Pricing and terms for online hypnotherapy
You should know what something will cost before you start, not three sessions in. So here’s what you’ll pay for hypnotherapy with me: every program I offer, the full total for each, and the terms that go with them, in plain English.

The first call is free: 15 minutes by phone, no obligation.
All prices are in Australian dollars. I’m not registered for GST, so no GST is added. Every session is by video, and the price is the same wherever you live.
How much does hypnotherapy cost? The programs
With me, a hypnotherapy session costs $300, or $250 when you prepay a program. Most issues suit a 4-session program, which is $1,000 in total upfront. Here’s each program and its full price.
4-session program
For most issues, including phobias, social and health anxiety, exam and performance nerves, confidence, procrastination, anger, alcohol, nail biting, hair pulling, skin picking and nightmares.
$1,000 total paid upfrontThat’s $250 a session. Or pay as you go at $300 a session: $1,200 total for all four.
Treatment plan
For anxiety, panic attacks, stress and burnout, trauma and PTSD, depression and OCD. These usually need more time, so we build a plan together at the start.
$1,500 to $3,000 total paid upfrontPlans typically run 6 to 12 sessions at $250 a session prepaid. Paid as you go at $300 a session, the total is $1,800 to $3,600.
- First session: $300. This is where we create your plan and agree the number of sessions. The $300 is credited to the plan, so it comes off the total rather than being added to it.
- 6 to 12 sessions is a typical range, not a promise. We review progress as we go.
Sleep and insomnia
Starts with the standard 4-session program.
$1,000 total paid upfrontOr $300 a session as you go: $1,200 for all four. Some people need 6 to 8 sessions for lasting improvement. Extra sessions are $300 each, or $250 each when prepaid. For 6 to 8 sessions, that’s $1,500 to $2,000 in total prepaid, or $1,800 to $2,400 as you go.
Quit smoking or quit vaping
$590 total one program- A 90-minute session designed to help you walk out smoke-free, or vape-free.
- 12 months of support as you need it: follow-up calls, SMS and top-up sessions.
- If you stop and later start again, that needs a new program.
Stop gambling
A 4-session program to stop gambling.
$1,000 total paid upfrontThat’s $250 a session. Or $300 a session as you go: $1,200 total.
- Many people follow it with 4 to 8 sessions of emotional repair to get life back on track. That’s $1,000 to $2,000 in total prepaid ($250 a session), or $1,200 to $2,400 as you go ($300 a session).
Single session
$300 per sessionFor a one-off session or to add to a program. Prepaid sessions are $250 each.
How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?
It depends on your presenting issue, and it’s the biggest thing that changes your total. A program to stop smoking or vaping is one 90-minute session. Many issues suit four sessions. Anxiety, trauma and low mood usually need 6 to 12. These are typical ranges, not promises.
What affects the cost of hypnosis and hypnotherapy
Three things set what you pay: the length of your program, how you pay, and what’s included. Prepaying brings each session down from $300 to $250, so four sessions cost $1,000 instead of $1,200.
Hypnotherapy prices vary between practitioners. When you compare, ask for the total for the whole program. Ask what’s included, too, not just the price per session. Neither “hypnotist” nor “hypnotherapist” is a regulated title in Australia, so training and experience matter as well. I’ve practised clinical hypnotherapy for fourteen years, and my training and ASCH Fellowship are on the About page.
What’s included
- A free 15-minute consultation call before booking or paying anything.
- Every session one to one with me, by video. I don’t hand you on to another hypnotherapist.
- An audio recording after your sessions, to listen to between appointments.
- Simple self-hypnosis you can use on your own, long after we finish.
Paying
You can pay by card, processed securely through Stripe, or by bank transfer. I send payment details once we’ve agreed on a program. Prices are in AUD and no GST applies, because I’m not registered for GST.
How long is a hypnotherapy session?
Your initial session runs up to 90 minutes. That gives us time to talk through what’s going on, agree your plan, and start the work. Each follow-up session runs up to 60 minutes. Quit smoking and quit vaping are one 90-minute session.
Prepaid sessions: $250 per session
Prepaid sessions are valid for 12 months from the date you pay. If you finish sooner than expected and have sessions left, they’re still yours. You can use them for something else, or pass them on to someone you know. Prepaid programs aren’t refunded for a change of mind, which is why the sessions stay flexible like this. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
Cancelling or rescheduling
Life happens. If you need to move a session, please give me at least 24 hours’ notice and we’ll find another time. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, counts as a session from your program, or a cancellation fee may apply. If I ever need to reschedule, I’ll give you as much notice as I can and you won’t lose the session.
Your rights under Australian Consumer LawMy services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be excluded. They must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose we’ve discussed, and be delivered within a reasonable time. Nothing on this page limits those rights. If you’re unhappy with a session, please tell me and we’ll work it out.
Does Medicare or private health insurance cover hypnotherapy?
Medicare and health fundsHypnotherapy isn’t covered by Medicare. Some health funds include it in extras cover and some don’t. Please check with your fund before you start. You don’t need a GP referral to see me. If you’d also like a psychologist, your GP can refer you with a Medicare rebate through Better Access, and hypnotherapy can sit alongside that.
Questions about the cost of hypnotherapy sessions
How much does hypnotherapy cost in Australia?
It differs between practitioners. With me, it’s $300 a session, or $250 a session when you prepay. A 4-session program is $1,000 upfront, and a quit smoking or vaping program is $590 in total.
Which program is right for me?
We work that out on the free call. Most issues suit the 4-session program. If a treatment plan or a different program makes more sense, I’ll explain why before you pay anything.
Do I have to pay for the whole program upfront?
No. You can pay $300 a session as you go. Paying upfront brings it down to $250 a session.
What if I need fewer sessions than planned?
Good. Any prepaid sessions you don’t use stay valid for 12 months. You can use them for something else, or pass them on to someone you know.
What if I need more sessions?
Extra sessions are $300 each, or $250 each when prepaid. I’ll only suggest more if I think they’ll help, and we’ll agree it together.
Does my private health fund cover hypnosis?
Some health funds include hypnotherapy in extras cover and some don’t. Ask your fund before you start.
What is the success rate of hypnotherapy?
I don’t quote one. The research differs from issue to issue, and each service page sets out what it actually says. Does hypnotherapy work?
Is online hypnosis cheaper than in person?
I only work by video, so there’s one price, and it’s the same in every state. You also save the travel time and parking.
How much is quit smoking hypnotherapy?
Smoking cessation is a fixed program: $590 in total for one 90-minute session and 12 months of support. Quitting vaping is the same program and price. Quit smoking hypnotherapy
